Dr. Jaume-Anselmi is renowned as a retired cardiologist and medical educator with more than 55 years of service to his students and patients. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Puerto Rico before graduating as a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Salamanca in 1962. Dr. Jaume-Anselmi is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Cardiovascular Diseases and the American Board of Critical Care Medicine.
From 1962 to 1963, Dr. Jaume-Anselmi completed an internship at the Aguadilla District Hospital. He did his internal medicine residency training at the Veteran Administration Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico from 1964 to 1966 and from 1968 to 1969. The internal medicine residency training was interrupted by military service in the United State Air Force from 1966 to 1968. From 1969 to 1971, he studied cardiovascular physiology at the Veterans Affairs Center in Wood, Wisconsin. Subsequently Dr. Jaume-Anselmi excelled as Internal Medicine Program Director at Hospital La Concepcion in San German, Puerto Rico from 1986 until his retirement 2019.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Jaume-Anselmi has been affiliated with several medical schools throughout his career. He has been active as a Professor of Medicine at Ponce Health Science University since 2008. He received a 2001 Humanism in Medicine Award from the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey and was recognized as a 2004 Laurate Award of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Jaume-Anselmi is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association Council on Clinical Cardiology.
