Throughout the course of his career, he has also gained valuable experience in the field as the founder of Home Funding Finders, a New York State mortgage bank that grew to become the third largest residential lender in the capital region. In 2010, Funding Finders was purchased by SEFCU, the region's largest credit union, and continues successfully under that umbrella. Though his career has been suffused with highlights, Mr. Raymond is especially proud to have assisted others in developing their careers. He has donated much of his time and resources to affordable housing endeavors and re-opened a summer camp that had closed, providing 1,100 children with services to which they otherwise would not have had access.
In 1968, Mr. Raymond earned an Associate of Arts from Paul Smith College. Outside of his professional circles, he continues to contribute through the American Cancer Society, Camp Schully, Catholic Charities, the Boys and Girls Club of Albany, Friends of Adoption, and Siena College, where he sits as a board member of Coaches vs. Cancer. In recognition of his professional achievements, he received the National Award for Community Service in 2010. A decade later, he was inducted into the Tech Valley Hall of Fame and received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award through Siena College. Looking toward the future, Mr. Raymond intends to experience the continued success of his career, while pursuing more community-related work.
