Dorothy H. Berman accepted the Nurse Excellence Award from Bedford Medical Center.
MACEDONIA, OH, May 29, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Dorothy H. Berman with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Berman celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Interested in nursing from a young age, Ms. Berman decided that she wanted to pursue a career that allowed her to help others. She subsequently earned an Associate of Science in Nursing from Broward Community College, Pompano Beach, Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Akron, Akron, Ohio. She is a Registered Nurse and certified in Gerontological Nursing through the American Nursing Credentialing Center. Flourishing in clinical and leadership nursing positions throughout her career, Ms. Berman currently serves as a Care Manager for Buckeye Health Plan.
Most recently, Ms. Berman was proud to have worked with the Palliative Care Program, in which she connected with a patient in palliative care, who was able to dedicate his last moments to his family. His family thanked her for her help by naming her in the funeral program. While working as a Director of Nursing, Ms. Berman would often work with residents and families during the holidays, and would take pictures frequently including several generations to remember.
Notably, Ms. Berman once cared for a patient who was a grandmother. As a result of her exemplary efforts, she was able to pass away at home with her family, and the woman's family thanked her by presenting her flowers and a funeral program. Years later, she oriented a nurse who Ms. Berman discovered to be her former patient's granddaughter. The granddaughter said that her family appreciated the efforts of the nurse that had helped her grandmother's final wish of dying at home surrounded by family come true.
For her accomplishments as a dedicated nurse, Ms. Berman accepted the Nurse Excellence Award from Bedford Medical Center. Civically, she has maintained her affiliation with the University Heights Symphonic Band and her local church. In her spare time outside of work, Ms. Berman enjoys music and crafts. She is an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
