Having accrued more than 45 years of inimitable expertise in the field of vocational education, Mr. Hart has garnered a laudable reputation as a welding instructor on behalf of the Western Technology Center since 1975. During his tenure at the school, he also taught electronics on campus between 1985 and 1992. Located on the former U.S. Department of Defense's Clinton-Sherman Air Force Base, the WTC offers workforce training for adult and high school students throughout western Oklahoma.
Mr. Hart initially entered the work force in 1974 as a welder at Graves Manufacturing in Clinton, Oklahoma, and subsequently for Fontaine Equipment Company in Burns Flat, until 1975. He excelled as an electrician for Foust Construction between 1975 and 1990, as a site evaluator for the State Department of Education Vo-Tech in Stillwater from 1976 until 1992 and a welding foreman for Ben's Welding in Foss, from 1981 to 1982. In later years, Mr. Hart provided his expertise as an Oklahoma State Welder Inspector between 2000 and 2006 and as a pipe fabricator welder for New Park Clinton from 2007 until 2013.
Aligned with the Oklahoma Welding Trade and Industrial Education Trade Group in Stillwater for many years, Mr. Hart is a former secretary-elect, co-chairman-elect, president-elect and past president. A dedicated civic advocate, he bears the distinction of having served for two years as the mayor of Rocky between 2010 and 2012, and spent 25 years as a volunteer firefighter for the Rocky Fire Department. Moreover, he served abroad as a member of the armed forces abroad in Europe between 1971 and 1973. Mr. Hart has remained active as a little league coach since 1990.
Following his graduation from high school, Mr. Hart decided to attend college, receiving an Associate of Science in mechanical engineering for transfer, with honors, at the Center for Degree Studies in 1982. He subsequently attained an Associate of Science in general education, summa cum laude, at Sayre Junior College in 1984. Accepted to Oklahoma State University, Mr. Hart continued his studies, receiving a bachelor's and master's degree in technical and industrial education in 1984 and 1986, respectively, followed by a degree in secondary administration at South Western Oklahoma University in 1987. Additionally, Mr. Hart completed doctoral coursework at Oklahoma State University between 1986 and 1990. He is a certified principal and certified welding teacher in the state of Oklahoma.
Active with several significant professional organizations pertinent to his career, Mr. Hart is a member of the American Vocational Association, the American Welding Society, the Oklahoma Vocational Association, the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America and, among others, the National Affiliation of Trade and Industrial Educators. For his time served in the military, he received a Letter of Recognition from Seventh Army Europe in 1973. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Hart has been cited in the fourth edition of Who's Who in American Education.
