Following his father's example, Dr. Tangutur received a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Andhra Medical College in India, a Master of Public Health in biostatistics and epidemiology from the University of Southern Mississippi and completed a residency in family practice at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
A dedicated civic advocate, Dr. Tangutur has volunteered his expertise as a member of the advisory board of Caring for Life. He has also been affiliated with the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin Winter Drive, the Huntsville Free Clinic and the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Tulane University. To remain aware of developments effecting his profession, Dr. Tangutur maintains his affiliation with the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, the Society of Hospital Medicine, the American Association of Physician of Indian Origin, the Medical Council of India and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, among other organizations.
