Now retired from a rewarding career as a food products company executive, Mrs. Lee had found much success with the very well-known Gerber Products Company in Fremont for more than 30 years. Hired by the American baby food and products company as a stenographic supervisor in 1961, she continually progressed throughout her tenure, advancing from the assistant to the chairman to the director of executive administration and corporate secretary. Prior to her time with Gerber, Mrs. Lee worked as a secretary and a bookkeeper for Gulf Oil Corporation in Manchester, Michigan, between 1956 and 1959, as well as a secretary and executive director for the Jackson Area Industrial Corporation in Jackson, Michigan, until 1961.
Mrs. Lee has been active with the Gerber Products Company as a member of the contributions committee since 1983 and an executive committee secretary since 1987. She formerly dedicated 10 years of her career at Gerber as the secretary of the audit committee board of directors from 1978 to 1988. As a proud member of the Gerber Foundation in Fremont since 1978, Mrs. Lee notably provided her time and expertise as the president between 1986 and 1995. A non-profit organization, the aforementioned foundation seeks to improve the quality of life for infants and young children by focusing its efforts on conducting applied research, mainly through grants, as well as by providing youth programs and college scholarships.
Through the community, Mrs. Lee has been involved with her local church as a moderator. She further flourished as a trustee for the Fremont Area Foundation between 1973 and 1984, a non-profit organization that assists the country in allocating resources to improve human needs, and education scholarships. Affiliated with the National Association of Corporate Directors, Mrs. Lee has been a member of the American Society of Corporation Secretaries.
A native of Michigan, Mrs. Lee initially pursued an education at LaSalle University in Philadelphia, from which she obtained an Associate of Science in accounting in 1977. Continuing her studies, she graduated from LaSalle University with an Associate of Science in business management in 1978. The recipient of an Academy of Women Achievers Award from the national YWCA in New York City in 1987, Mrs. Lee has been cited in the 45th through 48th editions of Who's Who in America.
