Established in 1989, the WEI's goals are twofold: to teach proper English to students to help them learn to communicate effectively and gain higher social/economic status, while also becoming more spiritual. Students' grammar and reading lessons are generated from bible stories so students become more fluent with the language and learn valuable lessons to help reduce violence, corruption, division, evil and hatred throughout the world. Students are notably taught at the WEI completely free of charge.
Dr. Ady began his career as a minister of education at Ayers Street Church of Christ in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1957. He later served as a minister for several churches in New Mexico, Oregon and Santa Rosa, California. Additionally, Dr. Ady worked as the founder and active missionary of the C.C.C. School of Biblical Studies in Taiwan, the founder of the World English School in Santa Rosa and the co-founder of Nations University in West Monroe, Louisiana.
During his profound career, Dr. Ady has excelled with numerous organizations in Santa Rosa. He formerly flourished as the co-founder and moderator of Friends of Refugees. He was also recruited on the board of directors of the Indochinese American Council, and he served as chairman of the Sonoma County Refugee Forum. Furthermore, Dr. Ady has hosted many seminars in his area of expertise as well.
Dr. Ady's most rewarding accomplishments include teaching 14 Chinese preachers in a preacher training school during his three years of ministry/mission work in Taiwan. Likewise, he provided speeches in Chinese churches and communities. Dr. Ady was additionally responsible for collecting and sending a 40-foot container of medical supplies, hospital equipment, and humanitarian aid to Albania after the fall of Communism.
A prolific author, Dr. Ady has published multiple international English course books and more than 15 international bible course books. Presently, he is authoring his 26th book for the WEI curriculum. Dr. Ady also co-authored the 1992 "Nguyen thi Long An/The Vietnam Experience in America," as well as numerous articles in professional journals.
A community leader and advocate for many years, Dr. Ady served as an elder of Metro Church of Christ in Gresham for 27 years between 1990 and 2016. He completed two years of training in the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program at New Mexico State University between 1949 and 1951. Soon thereafter, he continued his formal education at Abilene Christian University, from which he earned a bachelor's and master's degree in 1956 and 1957, respectively. Dr. Ady later graduated with a doctorate in ministry from the San Francisco Theological Seminary in 1983.
Recognized in 1972 with a Teacher of the Year Award from Columbia Christian College, Dr. Ady was later honored as the Minister of the Year by Pacific Christian Academy in 1983. He was also noted as the co-recipient of the Christian Service Award alongside his wife at Pepperdine University in 1993 and a Christian Service Award from Harding University in 2001. A celebrated Marquis listee, Dr. Ady has been cited in the 24th edition of Who's Who in the West.
