She subsequently worked on behalf of Saint Mary's Medical Center as a surgical manager of orthopedics and Vanderbilt University Medical Center as a coordinator of trauma and transplants, after which she assumed her current role as a consultant. During the early stages of her professional journey, Ms. Johnson taught various courses as an instructor of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology at Lockyear College in Evansville, Indiana, between 1987 and 1990. She then spent another year as an instructor for the surgery technician program at Ivy Technology College in Evansville until 1990.
Prior to embarking upon her career path, Ms. Johnson attended Southeast Missouri State University, from which she attained a Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1984. She later completed postgraduate coursework at Vanderbilt University. Eminently qualified in her field, Ms. Johnson is certified as an operating room nurse and laser nurse.
To remain aware of developments effecting her area of expertise, Ms. Johnson has maintained her professional affiliation with several pertinent organizations.
