A lifelong educator with a natural ability to teach, she previously held numerous roles in high leadership with several Christian and public educational facilities, and as a teacher and principal in the states of New Jersey, Florida, Maryland and New York. Eminently qualified within her field, Ms. Blum is a certified elementary teacher, administrator and supervisor with expertise in supervising curriculum and instruction, scheduling, directing and evaluating programs and activities, management skills and testing. She believes the next generation should always model best practices for differentiating students and techniques.
Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, Ms. Blum pursued a formal education at Wagner College. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in elementary education in 1975. Continuing on in education she went to the University of Miami, Ms. Blum concluded her academic efforts with a Master of Science in education in 1979. In 1982, she completed certification for administration and supervision for grades kindergarten through grade 12.
As a respected voice in her field, Ms. Blum has participated in three videos with Wagner College, Staten Island, New York and Bayonne Board of Education. She also co-produced several videos with Wagner College and the Staten Island Continuum. For her professional endeavors, she was bestowed with a Certificate of Recognition from Dade County Public Schools.
A dedicated civic advocate, Ms. Blum has served as a school chairperson for United Way of Miami, as well as Combined Charities in Baltimore, Maryland. Professionally, she has maintained her affiliation with the United Teachers of Dade, the University of Miami School of Education Allied Professions Alumni Association, Wagner College Alumni Association, the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 75, and is a participating member of the Mt. Vernon Miniature Schnauzer Club.
Outside of her vocational circles, Ms. Blum enjoys such avocations as reading and being a church organist, playing piano and listening to music. She would like to be remembered as being successful in enriching and mentoring the students for tomorrow's world.
