Ms. Fiddler enjoyed a distinguished career in sales and marketing for nearly two decades. After working for Troy State University in Europe as the graduate registrar for a short time, she was hired by the marketing department at Mount Mansfield Company in Stowe, Vermont, as an administrative assistant in 1980. As Ms. Fiddler progressed, she later earned opportunities with several other companies, including Rossignol Ski Company in their Tennis Division, and Epsilon Inc., as an administrator. Ultimately, she retired from Topnotch at Stowe as a group sales manager in 1998.
A philanthropist since coming of age, Ms. Fiddler learned from her parents and grandparents the importance of contributing to her community. In her adult life, she has notably served as the president and a board director of the United Way of Lamoille County in Hyde Park. In respect to the arts, she was active on the board of directors and as the chairperson of the finance and fundraising committee of the Johnson Friends of Arts, as well as a regional trustee for the Vermont Symphony Orchestra.
In education, Ms. Fiddler served on the board of directors and as the president of the Robert Alden Ellsworth Trust at Johnson State College in Johnson, Vermont, now Northern Vermont University, and has been aligned as a finance and investment committee member of the University of Vermont Foundation since 2015 and board trustee since 2017. In her local community, she has been active as a member of the Stowe Planning Commission and as a member and board of directors of the Lamoille Valley Chamber of Commerce. Additional involvements to Ms. Fiddler's credit have included membership with Women in Development in the greater Boston area, the American Association of University Women, and the University of Vermont Foundation Leadership Council, as well as a Vestry and finance committee member of Saint Mark's Episcopal Church in Durango, Colorado.
During the early stages of her career, Ms. Fiddler lived overseas with her husband due to his profession. Gaining a tremendous amount of vocational and personal experience while in Germany, she helped coordinate working groups across small towns during the height of the Cold War. She also oversaw several large conferences alongside her husband, some of which were NATO based and some that were designed for meetings with the Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Germans, and Americans. Additionally, Ms. Fiddler hosted various activities for the wives to keep them engaged in community life.
Learning the importance of an education from her parents, Ms. Fiddler's mother and father endowed two scholarships at a small local college in Missouri. Her father, who worked for General Electric, was a well-respected businessman. Following her graduation from high school, Ms. Fiddler attended the University of Vermont, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in 1963. She is fluent in English and German and speaks some French. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Fiddler has been cited in over 20 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in the World.
