Mrs. Mallon distinguished herself throughout the majority of her career in education, specifically as an adviser, director and teacher of bilingual and non-English speaking programs. Likewise, Mrs. Mallon organized conferences with the United Nations Children's Fund in Nicaragua and Colombia.

Following these accomplishments, Mrs Mallon immigrated to the United States with a scholarship to Smith College and then became a doctoral candidate from the Harvard School of Education.
After her studies Mrs. Mallon served as an advisor on techniques for reading Spanish with Boston Public Schools. She then created and served as director of a multilingual institute in Framingham, Massachusetts and became a guest speaker for bilingual courses and conferences at Framingham State College, the University of Massachusetts, Boston University and many other educational institutions. For her contributions to the field Mrs. Mallon received a Certificate of Distinction from the Massachusetts Reading Association and a Distinguished Service Award from the South Middlesex Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to her international work in Nicaragua and Colombia, Mrs. Mallon also served as principal of the Karachi American High School in Pakistan and later as director of a daycare program in Dhaca, Bangladesh. Her main contribution in Bangladesh was as a guide to curriculum development for early education in village schools, a program that has expanded widely in adjacent countries. Mrs. Mallon has attributed her professional dedication to her intrinsic passion for the work in education, and the promise it holds for millions worldwide.
