Dr. Mandel has also been a fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society, the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Mandel was a chief medical resident at Downstate Medical Center. He subsequently became a research fellow in electrophysiology at Upstate Medical Center and at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Following this appointment, Dr. Mandel served as the director of electrophysiology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center before advancing to become the clinical director of electrophysiology, as well as a medicine professor at the David Geffen University School of Medicine at UCLA.
Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Mandel has gained expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of complex arrhythmias. He has contributed his expertise to the field as an editor of the medical textbook, "Cardiac Arrhythmias." Dr. Mandel also excelled as a reviewer of numerous medical journals and has authored more than 150 articles in peer-reviewed professional journals.
Before embarking on his medical career, Dr. Mandel served to the rank of a captain of the medical corps in the U.S. Army. As a dedicated researcher and educator, he has been most proud of his research on basic and clinical sinus mode function, which has become an important contribution to the medical field. Dr. Mandel was also recognized among the Best Doctors in America, America's Top Physicians, America's Top Cardiologists and Top Cardiologists and Electrophysiologists in California. To remain aware of developments affecting the field, he has maintained his professional affiliation with the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the Heart Rhythm Society.
