In international consulting for the past near three decades, Mr. Saucier, of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, previously enjoyed a satisfying career in the field as a Petroleum Production Engineer for nearly three decades. After graduating from college, he began as a Production Research Engineer for Shell Development Company in 1964, which later led to the role of a Senior Production Engineer for Shell Oil Company, first in New Orleans and later in Houston. A seasoned researcher, Mr. Saucier has notably developed novel techniques for formation control and perforation testing technologies, hydraulic fracturing technologies, and multiphase flow. He holds several patents in his field and has contributed numerous articles to scholarly journals due to his years of study. Mr. Saucier is currently active in developing Flood Control technologies and has developed technologies for Hurricane intensity reduction.
Deeply invested in his community, Mr. Saucier has been involved in various civic affairs, especially with regard to city and school development. Instrumental in the completion of a $50 million school facility, he was also a part of a citizen's group that helped create the City of Central, Louisiana and a Central Independent School System. Most notably, Mr. Saucier served his country after college, by serving in the U. S. Army to the rank of a Captain in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Military Intelligence between 1965 and 1965.
To prepare for his career, Mr. Saucier received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Louisiana State University in 1962 and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Tulane University in 1964. He was awarded a fellowship from the National Defense Education Act for graduate studies.
Eminently qualified in his field, he was a registered engineer in the state of Texas. Mr. Saucier has been a respected member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, serving on the society's Editorial Committee between 1972 and 1989, and was named as a Distinguished Lecturer for 1988-1989. Other memberships to his credit include the honor societies of Pi Tau Sigma and Tau Beta Pi.
Mr. Saucier is also an active wood carver with notable recognition.
