MANSFIELD, TX, August 26, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gustavo Salcido has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Salcido is a bilingual educator celebrating more than four decades of service to his students and to the educational profession at large. From a very young age, he had developed a passion for teaching, and began leading Sunday School classes at his childhood church in Mexico as soon as he was able to. At the age of 16, he relocated to the United States, and when he was given an opportunity to pursue college coursework, he knew he would study education. Mr. Salcido holds a Bachelor of Arts in bilingual education from the University of Texas at El Paso.
For more than four decades, Mr. Salcido has distinguished himself as a teacher for a number of Texas school districts. He is currently teaching at International Leadership of Texas, a public charter school emphasizing global curriculum and integrated instruction for all students in English, Spanish and Mandarin. He notably teaches English language arts classes, as well as Spanish language social studies and science sections to classes of 40 secondary-level students. Mr. Salcido considers it his greatest professional honor to be visited by graduating students and to see the success that they have found as adults, particularly students who had complex journeys in their path to learning English.
With no plans to retire, Mr. Salcido hopes to continue teaching at International Leadership of Texas for as long as he is able to. He attributes his standout success to his propensity for dedication and seriousness, as well as the strong administrational leadership he has enjoyed throughout his career. While Mr. Salcido prefers to focus on his classroom achievements, he is a veteran of the United States Armed Forces, and was decorated with a Purple Heart for his service. Outside the classroom, Mr. Salcido is a member of the Church of God Seventh-Day congregation, and is active in the church's service ministries.
