In addition, he has served as a U.S. government consultant for advanced structural composites.
While coming of age, Mr. Gill drew a wealth of inspiration from his grandfather. Despite only having a sixth-grade education, the older man was possessed of a font of wisdom, as well as a dedicated work ethic. He often took time to fix people's cars and give them transportation when needed, and often spent much of his time with Mr. Gill as a child, who watched closely during car repairs. When his grandfather noticed that he was interested in the automotive industry, he suggested that he learn how to build cars, which ultimately pushed Mr. Gill to pursue the field professionally. He proceeded to study at the General Motors Institute and the University of Michigan and subsequently began his career as a design engineer General Motors, Oldsmobile division and consultant for Special Vehicles Operations, and later the Oldsmobile racing efforts in NASCAR, the NHRA.
In light of his accomplishments in the field, Mr. Gill's company received the Global Media Award from both the SEMA and PRI Show for two years in a row for his industry first, composite bell housing and connecting rods. His industry's first composite connecting rods have been featured in the prestigious International magazines, such as Race Engine Technology. Throughout the course of his career, he has attributed his professional success to his perseverance and curiosity. He has maintained his professional affiliations with certain organizations, namely the Specialty Equipment Market Association, the National Hot Rod Association and the Society of Automotive Engineering. Looking toward the future, Mr. Gill would like to continue working and eventually reap the benefits of his labor in retirement.
