Ms. Hutchison is an acupuncture apprentice who has been aligned with Wellness Concepts Clinic since 2018. Her vocational history in health care, which dates to 1989, began in nursing as a registered nurse and burn technician at Merch Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Ms. Hutchison subsequently enjoyed another 30 years as a registered nurse in Mercy Hospital's Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit between 1990 and 2020.
Working in the intensive care unit for the length of her career, Ms. Hutchison embraced a challenging and stressful professional journey. She was often required to continuously educate herself on developments in the field, and acquired several certifications to remain aware of growing trends. Ms. Hutchison always enjoyed helping patients and, although it was sometimes demanding, she greatly enjoyed her profession.
Ms. Hutchison received a Bachelor of Science in psychology, cum laude, in 1983 and a Master of Science in biology in 1986 at Missouri State University. After completing her master's thesis, which was published in the Cellular Immunology Journal in 1989, she was gratified to present a speech about the subject in Washington, D.C.. Ms. Hutchison subsequently received a registered nurse diploma at Saint John's School of Nursing in 1989. Moreover, she became certified as a critical care registered nurse in cardiac surgery, as well as for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. In January 2019, Ms. Hutchison also received a Yoga 200 teacher training certification.
To support her incredible career, Ms. Hutchison has been a member of the Association of Critical Care Nurses. Outside of her vocational circles, she is the loving wife of her husband, Jim Hutchison, alongside whom she is the proud mother of six children and six grandchildren. Ms. Hutchison's favored pastimes include walking, running and practicing yoga.
