RAYNHAM, MA, September 24, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Heather L. Angelo has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Possessed of a fearless spirit, Ms. Angelo has long been motivated by the desire to help and protect others. Enlisting with the U.S. Army Reserves in 1992, she served for over a decade and was notably deployed for one year in Kosovo. Following her military service, she received an Associate of Arts in fire science from Massasoit Community College. She served as a firefighter with the Brockton Fire Department for nearly 20 years before being promoted to the level of a lieutenant of the department. Ms. Angelo is also currently pursuing a degree in fire administration at Columbia Southern University.
For her military service, Ms. Angelo was extensively decorated throughout her career. She has received several Achievement Medals, as well as an Accommodation Medal, a National Defense Medal and a Kosovo Campaign Medal. Most recently, Ms. Angelo was presented with the Heroes Among Us Award. Moreover, she was honored publically at a Boston Celtics basketball game.
As an accomplished firefighter, Ms. Angelo has been most proud to be the first woman promoted to the rank of a lieutenant in her local fire department. Adjacent to her vocational pursuits, she is an active volunteer with the Girl Scouts of America and often fundraises for causes such as autism, men's health issues and breast cancer awareness. In the coming years, Ms. Angelo aspires to work toward becoming a captain of the Brockton Fire Department. She would also like to return to school to pursue a graduate degree.
