Dr. Reed began her career as a clinical instructor at Bradley University for eight years. She subsequently ventured into her current position as an assistant professor of nursing at the aforementioned university. Over the years, she has additionally gained expertise in community and public health services. Moreover, Dr. Reed has contributed to her community by accepting more service roles in general public health. Most recently, she was appointed to her local county's board of health.
Civically, Dr. Reed has been active with the local food bank through Hand Up Peoria Inc. She also volunteers as a nurse at local shelters. Likewise, Dr. Reed maintains active membership with the service organization Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Her professional affiliations include Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, National League of Nursing, and Nurses Christian Fellowship.
Dr. Reed has attributed her professional success to her exceptional upbringing and her education. As a child, she was enrolled in boarding school, where she learned discipline, valuable morals and how to balance her professional and personal life. Throughout her career, she has been incredibly proud to graduate with her doctorate. Looking toward the future, Dr. Reed plans to conduct more work in academics while publishing her chapters professionally.
