Inspired to become a lawyer at a young age, Ms. Long achieved her aspirations, culminating in her current role as a products liability and complex torts partner at Dentons. Formerly known as McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, she found much success in her present position since 2001. A seasoned trial lawyer with a proven track record of success in defending companies faced with complex litigation matters, Ms. Long represents clients in state and federal courts across the country in the petrochemical, safety, pharmaceutical, maritime and automotive industries.
Throughout her career, Ms. Long has taken part in several notable cases, recently obtaining a defense verdict in a product liability respirator jury trial, a favorable judgment in a bench trial involving alleged exposures overseas and a unanimous published decision by the Court of Appeals affirming her defense verdict for ExxonMobil, Petitpas et al. v. Ford Motor Company, et al., which was selected by the Daily Journal as one of the Top Defense Verdicts of the Year at the time she tried it. As a result of her expertise and visibility, Ms. Long is regularly recruited to speak at conferences around the country about issues impacting product manufacturers and premises owners.
In pursuit of her career, Ms. Long earned a Bachelor of Science from San Diego State University in 1995 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law in 1999. Mother to Hudson and Mila, she also retains her professional alignment with the Litigation Counsel of America, as well as the Association of Business Trial Lawyers of Los Angeles, the Defense Research Institute, the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, the Southern California Defense Counsel and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, to name a few. With a plethora of knowledge at her disposal, Ms. Long authored "California Premises Liability Law" in 2015, as well as several published articles on such topics as Covid-19's impact on trials, jury selection, millennial jurors, post-trial motions, cross-border discovery and premises liability.
Having tried cases for some of the largest companies in the world, Ms. Long has been featured in Law360, the Daily Journal, HarrisMartin and InsideCounsel. In light of her professional body of work, she has been honored many times, accepting Southern California Super Lawyer recognition through Super Lawyers between 2010 and 2020. She was also featured among Southern California's Top Women Attorneys and among the Top Attorneys in Los Angeles Magazine.
