GLENSIDE, PA, October 14, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rosette Coney has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Growing up in church, Rosette Coney was inspired by her grandfather, the late Reverend H.C. Williams, former pastor of Friendly Baptist Church in Philadelphia. As a child, she would sketch his Bible stories as he prepared his sermons for the congregation. She graduated as valedictorian from the Trinity School of Enlightemnent after completing biblical studies. Ms. Coney also received designation as a certified professional secretary and began her career at the First Pennsylvania Bank for five years. She then worked with the PMA Insurance Group for 25 years before leaving the corporate world to follow her faith and do full-time ministry work. In 2006, she started her ministry, Church of the Living God, in the basement of her home with her husband, Deacon Gene Coney. Several years later, she purchased a small church that she restored from the ground up with dedicated members of the congregation.
In addition to her ministry work, Ms. Coney uses her creativity to design her own greeting cards and miscellaneous craft items through her business, Rosette's Creations. She also works as an author, writer, psalmist, motivational speaker, and humanitarian. Her books include "No Permits Issued Today" and "Take Your Feet Off the Seat." Over the years, Ms. Coney has been an active member of the Bethel Deliverance International Fellowship of Churches in Philadelphia and the Holy Convocation Planning Committee. She also contributes to her community as a supporter of ASIR, an educational program for underprivileged children, and with an outreach program to feed the hungry and donate clothes.
For her efforts throughout her career, Ms. Coney was presented with an honorary doctoral degree from Calvary's Cross Institute, the Master's Award from Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, and the Humanitarian Award from the city of Pennsylvania. She was also inducted into the Philadelphia Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame with her singing group, The Henderson Sisters. Ms. Coney maintains professional affiliation with Professional Secretaries International and the Strawberry Mansion Faith Based Coalition. She attributes her professional success to her faith. Looking toward the future, she plans to move on to a larger church with a facility where she can train other professionals. She would like to develop a multifaceted space in order to meet the needs of the people.
