Ms. Day is the healthcare and wellness entrepreneur behind Bright Body, a line of affordable small-batch nontoxic skin, hair, and body care products. The line was created in 2017 based on her experience living with multiple chronic illnesses. After researching the ingredients in her personal care products, she found dozens of questionable ingredients and sought to create alternatives with the lightest possible impact on the body and the planet. As a part of her mission, Ms. Day donates 2% of the company's net profits to mission-aligned nonprofits, and hopes to build the program into a $10,000 annual charitable partnership.
Prior to beginning Bright Body, Ms. Day worked in healthcare administration and fitness instruction. A graduate of Virginia Tech and Virginia Commonwealth University, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, a Bachelor of Science in human development and a Master of Healthcare Administration. While completing her master's coursework, Ms. Day served as a program assistant in the Virginia Commonwealth University Department of Administration and a trainee administrator at a retirement community. She began teaching yoga in 2014, and launched her own yoga business in 2015.
Ms. Day attributes her success to her work ethic and her own wellness journey, and credits her parents with instilling within her the value of drive and hard work. Bright Body was the winner of the Made in Virginia Brand Award by Virginia Living Magazine in 2019, and she has cultivated a reputation as an industry thought leader and a voice to watch. Ms. Day hopes to grow the company's e-commerce presence and establish regional retail partnerships with Whole Foods in the coming years.
