After immigrating from the Philippines in 2007, Mrs. Lewis began her career at a restaurant as a cook. After several years in this position, the owner of the restaurant decided to let her manage the establishment for two years. As a testament to her phenomenal results during this time the owner decided to allow Mrs. Lewis to lease the restaurant for two more years under Mrs. Lewis's own restaurant name of Pinoy Oriental, specializing in Philippine cuisine.
In addition to her work as being a restaurant lessee Mrs. Lewis decided to venture out and establish a food truck. The food truck also being named Pinoy Oriental was a huge success which resulted in the restaurant lease not being renewed. With her business she is responsible for preparing the kitchen and food, cooking, customer service, stock management, supervising other employees and catering delicious food for many local businesses. Moreover, Mrs. Lewis has received ongoing support from her peers and colleagues in the area and she ensures that she contributes to them as well in any way she can.
As a dedicated member of her community, Mrs. Lewis volunteers at the local senior citizens center for soup night. She helps by preparing and cooking food for approximately 100 people on those nights. Over the years, she has attributed her professional success to her family upbringing in the Philippines where she started cooking at a young age, to her wonderful community and that she got a chance to live the American dream. Looking forward to the future, Mrs. Lewis plans to continue the success of her business, continue entertaining others and offer her experience's to any needing assistance.
