Inspired by more than 10 years of success as a member of the Matanuska Susitna School Board, and her late husband's own Senate run, Ms. Post began her political career in 2009 when she was elected to represent District G in the Alaska State Senate. Serving proudly until 2012, she championed bills that supported the development of local infrastructure and celebrated the beauty of Alaskan culture and wilderness. Ms. Post considers herself honored to have been able to serve "the fabulous state of Alaska" as a legislator and operate as a part of the state's first married lawmaking team.
Ms. Post initially earned a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from the University of Alaska before dedicating a portion of her career as a classroom teacher and the founder of the Matanuska Susitna Schools Foundation. She further flourished as the former owner of the Mrs. Alaska franchise, and worked alongside her husband as the chief financial officer of his two dental practices. In addition to her other ventures, Ms. Post was additionally active as the founder and owner of All I Saw Cookware.
Currently, Ms. Post has excelled on the Alaska State board of the Family Center Service and additionally as the chairperson and interim director of the Mat-Su Health Foundation. In recognition of her dedication to the community of the Wasilla area, she has been recognized as a Champion for Children and the Wasilla Chamber of Commerce's 1999 Citizen of the Year. Likewise, she was presented with a First Lady's Volunteer Award and a Henry Jall Fellowship Award. She has also contributed as the president of the Alaska chapter of the American Cancer Society as well as a member of the Wasilla Chamber of Commerce, the Salvation Army, Matanuska Electric Foundation, Charitable Foundation and the Alaska Antique Tractor Club. Not yet retired from local politics, Ms. Post looks toward the future with plans for a mayoral run.
