With more than 35 years of professional experience, Dr. Schwartz most recently served as an associate clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology with the Medical College of Wisconsin from 1976 to 1994, at which point he attained retirement. In addition to his academic role, he served on the staff of Elmbrook Memorial Hospital from 1971 to 1994 and Sinai Samaritan Hospital and West Allis Hospital from 1961 to 1994.
Dr. Schwartz began his career as a student at the University of Wisconsin, earning a Doctor of Medicine in 1955. He then joined St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, for an internship from 1955 to 1956. He concluded his studies with Milwaukee County Hospital, completing a residency in obstetrics and gynecology from 1958 to 1961. Dr. Schwartz is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
A respected leader in his field, Dr. Schwartz has been active with a number of organizations in his community. A fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons, he is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the Central Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Schwartz also served with the United States Army Medical Corps.
Throughout his career, Dr. Schwartz has been recognized for his accomplishments. He has been featured in numerous honors publications, including multiple editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare. An associated author of articles to professional journals, he spends his spare time volunteering at his local church.
