CORVALLIS, OR, December 31, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Helen Z. Higgins has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. Ms Higgins earned her Bachelor of Arts in rhetoric communication from the University of Oregon, and completed a Mirco-MBA program at Boise State. Ms. Higgins began her 18-year career at Hewlett Packard providing project and people leadership in technical marketing, environmental product design, new business creation and business development. Additionally, Ms. Higgins completed coursework with Leadership Corvallis to bolster her community connections to support her work as the chief executive officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis.
For her exceptional efforts throughout her career, Ms. Higgins has accepted several awards and accolades from various industry organizations and institutions. In recognition of her strong leadership skills she was presented with the Hans Neukomm Leadership Award from Leadership Corvallis as well as the 2020 Horizon Award from the Pacific Region of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Ms. Higgins was also recognized as the Business Person of the Year in 2018 by the Corvallis Chamber of Commerce and one of Corvallis' Most Impactful Citizens in 2016 by the Corvallis Advocate.
As a dedicated member of her community, Ms. Higgins is active on the board of the Central Willamette Credit Union, and is the current President of the Rotary Club of Greater Corvallis. She previously served on the Corvallis School Board and the Corvallis Public School Foundation. She served on the Board of the Corvallis Chamber of Commerce, the Corvallis City Club, and the Corvallis Clinic Foundation. Looking toward the future, Ms. Higgins will continue to address systemic issues that contribute to intergenerational poverty by increasing access to opportunity and elevating youth in need through the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis.
