A native of Surrey, England, he traveled to America with his wife after receiving a job offer from Continental Can Company in Savannah, Georgia, in 1969. After 10 years as a project engineer, he relocated to Augusta, Georgia, for a promotion as a Division Manager of Energy. Based in Stamford, Connecticut, Continental was known as an American producer of metal containers and as a packaging company. Mr. Graham was ultimately acquired by Stone Container Corporation in Atlanta in 1984, where he served as Corporate Manager of Energy for another 26 years before retiring in 2010. Earlier on in his career, he worked on the construction of paper mills as an engineer.
Mr. Graham enjoyed numerous successes over the years, including saving his company millions of dollars in energy. He also traveled quite a bit, which was a great experience, and has been published in several industry-related publications for his expertise. Proud of his achievements, none of it would have been possible without the love and support of his wife, Catherine, and three daughters: Kiersten, Elizabeth and Evelyn.
To give back to his community, Mr. Graham has been actively involved in his church, where he has volunteered his time in various capacities. He is also a retired commander of the Knights Templar and Order of the Knights of Jerusalem. Mr. Graham received a higher national certificate from Kingston College of Technology. A respected voice in his areas of interest, Mr. Graham has been affiliated with several professional organizations, including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry, Inc., and the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. He was also president of the Clah Graham Society for 25 years and a board member and past president of the Saint Andrews Society and the Burns Club of Atlanta.
Mr. Graham was named Chieftain by the 7th Duke of Montrose in 1989 and the 8th Duke of Montrose in 1992. A celebrated Marquis listee, he has been cited in the 47th through 50th editions of Who's Who in America, the 27th edition of Who's Who in Finance and Industry, and the 22nd edition of Who's Who in the South and Southeast.
