Accumulating over four decades of professional excellence as a cardiologist with the Arizona Cardiology Group in Phoenix, Dr. Ehrlich retired in 2011. Specializing in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine, he was also instrumental as the president of the medical staff at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix from 1988 to 1992 and as a trustee and the chairperson at Mercy Healthcare of Arizona between 1994 and 2002 and from 1998 until 2001, respectively. Fascinated by the physiological aspects of cardiology, Dr. Ehrlich greatly enjoyed caring for patients and providing proper diagnoses and treatment.
A dedicated civic advocate, Dr. Ehrlich began volunteering his time and expertise following his retirement. Working with Mission of Mercy Arizona (MOM), a nonprofit mobile clinic, the organization provides free health care and prescription medications to the uninsured and under insured throughout Mesa, Arizona, and surrounding areas. Volunteering every Thursday, he is tasked with seeing patients in the organization's RV, which serves as a triage area for examinations. Dr. Ehrlich's devotion to community also extends into the arts. He served as a trustee for the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff from 1990 to 1993 and the Herberger Theater in Phoenix between 1993 and 1996.
Drawing a wealth of influence from his father, who was the first specialty cardiologist in the state of Arizona, Dr. Ehrlich was accepted to Stanford University, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in 1960. Shortly thereafter, he attained a Doctor of Medicine at the prestigious Harvard University in 1964. Additional educational pursuits to his credit include an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of California Los Angeles Medical Center from 1964 to 1967 and a fellowship in cardiology at the University of California San Francisco between 1967 and 1969. Eminently qualified in his field, Dr. Ehrlich is board certified in internal medicine and cardiology.
Dr. Ehrlich is an elected fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians and the Council of Clinical Cardiology of the American Heart Association. He is also a past president of the Arizona chapter of the American Heart Association, a past president of the Maricopa County Medical Society. Recognized for his indelible accomplishments in medicine, Dr. Ehrlich has been named as a Top Doctor by Phoenix Magazine several times.
