Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Shortly after graduating from college, Ms. Kelso accepted a position as an admissions and records clerk at Northeast State Community College. She soon found that she enjoyed working in higher education and decided to remain in the field on a long-term basis, after which she became a veterans' affairs officer. Presently, Ms. Kelso serves as the director of the college's Veteran and Military Student Success Center. The school has, notably, been recognized as a top military friendly community college in Tennessee and the seventh overall in the nation.
Prior to embarking upon her vocational journey, Ms. Kelso received a Bachelor of Science in mass communication from Middle Tennessee State University. Likewise, she holds a certificate in general education, which was bestowed to her by Northeast State Community College. Professionally, Ms. Kelso has been affiliated with Phi Theta Kappa, the Tri-Cities Military Affairs Council and the Tennessee Educational Association for Veterans Programs Administrators. Civically, she has been active with Compassion International and the United Nations Children's Fund.
Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Kelso has gained expertise in academic advisement and tutoring, and scholarship workshops. Well regarded for her exemplary performance, she was named to a 40 Under Forty list by a local business journal. In accounting for her standout success, she attributes the guidance and tutelage of her supervisor, Patricia Chandler, who previously served as the coordinator of veterans' affairs for more than four decades. Looking toward the future, Ms. Kelso plans to continue on her current path and reap the fruits of her success.
