Mr. Wirsching is a retired electronics company executive celebrating more than 50 years of expertise and leadership in consumer electronics and computing industry. His career began as a Tool and Die Maker for Mercedes Benz AG in the 1950s. Mr. Wirsching soon recognized that garnering business management, marketing, and financial skills was the key to success in his industry and had transitioned into a management position by the end of the decade.
From 1958 to 1967, Mr. Wirsching was active in an engineering management post with Radio Electronics Headquarters Incorporated in the Philippines. He moved to Hong Kong to join Transworld Electronics Limited as General Manager. He subsequently served Capetronic Group Limited as the Chief Operating Officer from 1974 to 1981. He was appointed Chairman. In addition to his work with the Capetronic Group, he was appointed director of BSR PLC, in London.
In 1986 he sold his investment in the Capetronic Group Limited to Polly Peck International PLC (PPI) in London and joined their Board of Directors. In 1989 he orchestrated the acquisition of a 51% stake in Sansui Electric Co. Ltd. listed in the Tokyo Stock Exchange for PPI.
Mr. Wirsching continued to work in the consumer electronics field until 2008, dedicating two years of his career as the independent director of Emerson Radio Corporation. A valuable asset in the field, Mr. Wirsching has been quoted in many publications, including "Asil Nadir and the Rise and Fall of Polly Peck" by David Barchard of the Financial Times, "Who Killed Polly Peck?" "The Sultan of Berkley Square", "Asil Nadir and the Thatcher Years," "The Turquoise Conspiracy", and in the Financial Times UK, leading Japanese, US, Hong Kong and Philippines publications. Mr. Wirsching was a member of the team that created the first Apple Macintosh Computer.
He is noted as the past president of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and former chairman of the American Society of Tool Manufacturing Engineers in Manila, Philippines, which presented him with two Awards of Merit. From 2005 until 2009, Mr. Wirsching was designated as a Trustee of the Wooster School in CT and he was affiliated with the Jaycees in Manila, and the Anti-Defamation League in NY, which honored him with the S. David Feir Humanitarian Award in 1991.
