WILLISTON, VT, February 04, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lyn M. Porter has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Since coming of age, Ms. Porter has enjoyed working with kids and remaining physically active. In preparing for her professional journey, she received a Bachelor of Science in physical education teaching and coaching from Castleton University and a Master of Arts in elementary education and teaching from Kaplan University. Eminently qualified in her field, she holds certification in first aid, CPR and kindergarten through 12th grade physical education. She is also a certified EMT through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
Presently, Ms. Porter works as a physical educator for pre-kindergarten through second grade students at Allen Brook School. Likewise, she is an EMT with the Hinesburg Fire Department. Ms. Porter also serves on three committees at the Allen Brook School, specializing in curriculum instruction and design, classroom management, virtual teaching and leadership.
Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Porter has enjoyed interacting with each of her students every day. Additionally, she is most proud to have improved her own learning abilities and to have constantly grown through her efforts. Well regarded for her contributions, Ms. Porter is a recipient of an Outstanding Professional Service Award from SHAPE Eastern District, the Margie R. Hanson Distinguished Elementary Service Award from SHAPE America and, most recently, acknowledgment as the Sanford Teacher of the Year for the State of Vermont from Sanford Higher Education University.
Ms. Porter has attributed her professional success to hard work, flexibility and her desire to see children grow and learn. As a respected voice in her field, she was published in the book, "M.A.D. Teachers Make a Difference, How to be an Outstanding Physical Educator." Looking toward the future, Ms. Porter plans to use her expertise to consult, facilitate conferences and become a presenter and keynote speaker in the field. She would also like to venture into higher education and publish a children's book.
