Obtaining a Doctor of Medicine from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo in 1982, he subsequently completed an internship in general surgery at Ponce District Hospital in Puerto Rico in 1990, an internship in internal medicine at Caguas Regional Hospital in Puerto Rico in 1992, an internship in internal medicine at San Juan City Hospital in Puerto Rico in 1997 and an internship in cardiovascular medicine at San Juan City Hospital in 2000. Notably, Dr. Gonzalez de Pena has been licensed to practice medicine in Georgia, Florida and Puerto Rico.
Dr. Gonzalez de Pena is additionally affiliated with a number of relevant organizations, including the Puerto Rico Cardiology Society, the American Medical Association and the Medical College of Puerto Rico. Passionate about his career, he proudly specializes in cardiovascular conditions and emergency medicine. Dr. Gonzalez de Pena was inspired to enter his profession by his father, Segundo Armando Gonzalez Damayo, who was a cardiologist in the Dominican Republic.
