ALPINE, TX, February 11, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Briana Criaco has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Criaco celebrates a career dedicated to clinical excellence as an emergency medicine nurse. A talented and precocious student, Ms. Criaco was torn between careers in nursing, veterinary medicine and writing when she graduated from high school, and applied to several colleges. She found a perfect fit at the University of Texas at Austin, where she completed a Bachelor of Science in registered nursing on scholarship in 2014, and she holds continuing education in forensic, emergency, and trauma nursing skill sets.
Before attending nursing school, Ms. Criaco found early success in a variety of health and human services roles, serving as a worship leader and infant caregiver for the University Presbyterian Church in Austin, an academic peer coach at the Sanger Learning Center, and a conference assistant at the Division of Food and Housing. She began her medical career in 2015 as a registered emergency room nurse at CHI St. Joseph Health, and concurrently worked with SAFE Alliance as a forensic nurse in 2017 and 2018. Ms. Criaco departed CHI St. Joseph Health in 2019 to accept her current position with Quorum Health Resources, working simultaneously in the emergency department as a staff nurse and as the trauma nurse coordinator for Big Bend Regional Medical Center.
Since 2017, Ms. Criaco has been asked to serve as a nurse preceptor, and she considers it an honor to help guide new medical professionals in their career development. She is a member of the Emergency Nurses Association and the International Association of Forensic Nurses and has received several continuing education scholarships, including a state-level professional education scholarship available to the top 10% of students, the Doris Floyd Thomas Nursing Memorial Scholarship, the Kathryn Gurley Endowment and the St. David's Healthcare Professions Scholarship. Ms. Criaco looks forward to returning to school to pursue a master's degree in nursing administration within the next five years, and is eager to transition to a higher level trauma facility to gain experience working alongside a team of trauma coordinators.
