JACKSON, MI, March 01, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John C. Worden has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. While coming of age, Mr. Worden found himself greatly inspired by his local fire department, whose kindness and valor impressed him dearly. Having initially worked for his father's offset printing business, he eventually decided to follow the same career path and began working for the Summit Fire Department in Jackson, Michigan, where he worked hard to move up through the ranks to Chief of the fire department from 1961 to1997 and then again from 2008 to 2012.
From 1973 to 1976 Chief Worden also served as a superintendent of the Public Works Department and again from 1979 to 1981 He was also the Chief of Police for Summit Township in 1985 and 1986.
Since then, he has distinguished himself as the administrative chief of the Leoni Township Fire Department and the Chief of fire department services on behalf of Summit Township. Presently, Mr. Worden serves as a consultant and zoning administrator in his local township, and as a board chairperson for the Jackson County Disaster Assistance Response Team.
To prepare for his professional journey, Mr. Worden attended Jackson Community College, from which he attained an Associate of Arts in liberal arts. He subsequently has undertaken additional coursework in labor relations and political science at Michigan State University. Eminently qualified in his field, Mr. Worden has also completed the Executive Fire Officer Training Program at the National Fire Academy.
Throughout his career, Mr. Worden has received numerous accolades for his service to the department, including the honor of having a building named after him in his local neighborhood. In service to his community, he has been active with the board of directors of the Huron Valley Ambulance and Subsidiaries, the Jackson Community Ambulance, the Jackson County Disaster Assistance Response Team and Emergent Health Partners. Likewise, Mr. Worden has maintained his professional affiliation with such pertinent organizations as the Office of Emergency Measures, the Jackson County Local Emergency Planning Committee, the Jackson County Fire Chiefs Association, the American Red Cross, the Michigan Fire Service Instructors Association and the International Association of Arson Investigators, among many others.
