In 2017, Mr. Brown retired after 28 years of service as an outplant mechanic and journeyman with Con Edison. During his time with the aforementioned company, he helped mentor junior mechanics, responded to gas leaks, fires, explosions, installation of gas services and gas mains. He also maintained the gas system and worked alongside NYC agencies and documented all actions for each location to the company. Prior to his tenure with Con Edison, Mr. Brown gained valuable expertise in the United States Army Reserves and Arthur Andersen. The experience gained from Arthur Andersen helped him to become an offset press operator. He worked on various commercial printing presses and supported the binding department to complete manuals, reports, and proposal guides between 1979 and 1989.
As he continued to build his career with Con Edison, Mr. Brown had been dedicated to the United States Army Reserves and was promoted to Staff Sergeant. In this capacity, he helped to train and supervise between 15 and 30 soldiers in the platoon. Likewise, Mr. Brown had enforced policies and procedures to his subordinates. (RETIRED)
An expert in his field, Mr. Brown was formally trained through the Con Edison Learning Center. For his professional achievements, he was honored with various awards for outstanding work through Con Edison. Looking toward the future, Mr. Brown would like to utilize what he has learned over the years to establish new ventures.
