FALL RIVER, MA, April 02, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Father Jeffrey Cabral has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Fr. Cabral celebrates more than seven years as the Judicial Vicar of the Fall River Diocesan Tribunal and almost three years as the pastor of Santo Christo Parish. The son of Portuguese immigrants and a first-generation American, he attended the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics in 1995. Fr. Cabral began to feel the calling to priesthood during college, but hesitated to enter the seminary, instead continuing his part-time job after graduation.
When his employer went out of business, Fr. Cabral finally accepted his calling and seized the opportunity to attend St. John's Seminary, becoming ordained and completing a Master of Divinity in 2002. He found that his time in the seminary simply felt right, and continued to pursue further spiritual study and responsibility, beginning the path to becoming a canon lawyer. In 2010, Fr. Cabral was bestowed with his Licentiate of Canon Law at the Catholic University of America and later became a judge and judicial vicar of the Fall River Diocesan Tribunal.
Fr. Cabral continues to oversee Tribunal proceedings and determine marriage annulments for parishioners, in addition to celebrating Mass, Sacraments and other responsibilities as a pastor. He is a member of the Fall River Diocese's Catholic Appeal Task Force. Fr. Cabral previously served as chaplain at the former Taunton Catholic Middle and Coyle-Cassidy High Schools in Taunton, Massachusetts, as the Taunton Deanery Vocation Coordinator, a member of the Diocesan Personnel Board, and served in many parishes throughout the Fall River Diocese. He is active in the Canon Law Society of America and the Eastern Regional Conference of Canonists. In the coming years, Fr. Cabral looks forward to continuing to grow in his faith and responsibility to the Church and his parishioners, and to continue in his role with Santo Christo Parish and the Fall River Diocesan Tribunal.
