TONEY, AL, April 29, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kala Jo Grice-Dobbins has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Driven to serve as a teacher since coming of age, Ms. Grice-Dobbins began in the field as a teacher with Murrah High School. Throughout the course of her career, she gained valuable expertise in the field with North West Rankin High School and Denman Middle School. She is now a STEM teacher at Sparkman Middle School, As an educator, she creates the curriculum, which consists of cyber education, mathematics, FUSE teaching, 3D printing, computer science, photography, website development and more. Throughout her career, Ms. Grice-Dobbins has also written 18 grants in order to obtain funding for Murrah High School and Sparkman Middle School.
An Apple Certified Educator and Level I and II Google Educator, Ms. Grice-Dobbins earned a Bachelor of Science in Education for kindergarten through eighth grade from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2006. Following this accomplishment, she received a Master of Science in instructional technology education from her alma mater in 2009. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Ms. Grice-Dobbins aligns herself with Alpha Lambda Delta, Kappa Delta Pi, and the Alabama and National Education Associations.
Alongside her work in the field, Ms. Grice-Dobbins donates to the Alabama North Civitan District Board and serves as the coach of the Cyber Patriot Teams at Sparkman Middle School as well as yearbook sponsor and a bus driver. She previously coached the scholar and mathematics teams at Sparkman Middle School. For her professional achievements, she was named as the Governor of the Year through Junior Civitans between 1999 and 2001 and received the Math Team Regional Coach of the Year for MATHCOUNTS in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Though her career has been suffused with highlights, she is most proud to have witnessed the success of her academic teams. In the coming years, Ms. Grice-Dobbin intends to remain active at Sparkman Middle School, teach on a larger scale and add a robotics team to the school.
