Bearing a passion for her work that stems from her childhood, Ms. Evans joined Bill Stanton Realty in Jackson, Mississippi, as a real estate salesperson in 1979. As she became more familiar in her role, she proceeded to work for several other real estate firms, including Stan Weber & Associates in New Orleans. After attaining a deeper understanding for the dynamics of the field, Ms. Evans began to branch out, finding success at Latter & Blum Inc., Delta Title Corporation and B&L Realty Inc. as a marketing representative. She was ultimately recruited by First American Title Insurance Company and, over the next 25 years, worked as an agency sales executive for the northern third of the state of Louisiana and the northwestern portion of Arkansas, until her retirement in 2021.
A consummate professional, Ms. Evans was active on every committee of the Real Estate Board of New Orleans between 1980 and 1986. She also lent her expertise as the treasurer of the WestBank Commercial Group in New Orleans from 1989 to 1991. As a dedicated civic advocate, Ms. Evans was involved with the Southern Baptist Hospital League in New Orleans as a member for several years throughout the 1980s. Other activities to her credit included collaborating as a vocalist for Constitution Week and the U.S.S. Indiana (BB-58) Reunion in New Orleans.
Born and raised in Louisiana, Ms. Evans studied locally at Northwestern College in Natchitoches. To better sustain her professional endeavors, she has been a member of the Women's Council of Realtors. Furthermore, Ms. Evans notably served as the organization's secretary during 1989, and was named as an Outstanding Member in 1988.
Ms. Evans received several awards during her career, including the Max J. Derbes Meritorious Service Award from the New Orleans Realtors Association in 1992. A celebrated Marquis listee, she has been cited in the first edition of Who's Who in the Media and Communication and the 19th edition of Who's Who of American Women. Ms. Evans was married to her husband, Scottie, from 1963 through 1998, when he passed away. They are the proud parents of three children, through whom they have 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
