Since coming of age, Mr. Mann has displayed a great talent as an artist. Taking notice of this gift, his teachers encouraged him to pursue a career in art throughout his studies. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science from High Point University, a Bachelor of Arts from George Washington University and, later, a Master of Fine Arts from Pratt Institute. Mr. Mann also studied at the Whitney Museum of American Art and Columbia University.
Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Mann has held guest lecturing positions at the Corcoran College of Art, Pennsylvania State University, the Pratt Institute, the New School, Parsons School of Art and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Likewise, he earned distinction in a similar capacity with Iona College, the Presbyterian Collegiate Church Center, Northampton College, Reading College, The Educational Alliance, the Interchurch Center and Palazzo Barbarigo Minotto in Venice, Italy. Mr. Mann also worked with his own studio, the Frank Mann Studio, for seven years.
Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Mann has presented six major groups of paintings reflecting his research on visual perception. He is also credited with developing a model for illustrating the mechanism for structural color in nature. Previously, he served as the executive director of Collaborative Projects Inc. Mr. Mann currently works closely with Association D'Aides in Paris and with Visual AIDS in New York.
Civically, Mr. Mann has been involved with such international organizations as the Central Cultural Center of Buenos Aires, Argentina, the Biennale Internazionale Dell'Arte Contemporanea in Florence, Italy, the International Festival of Contemporary Art in France, and the Collateral Event of the 58th Venice Biennale in Venice, Italy. For his efforts as artist, Mr. Mann was recently recognized as the Artist of the Decade by the International Association of Top Professionals. He also received the International Prize from Art Now and Art International Contemporary Magazine, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Association of Top Professionals and the Pablo Picasso Award from Accademia Italia in Arte nel Mondo Associazione Culturale in Lecce, Italy.
