Dr. Snyder celebrates a successful ongoing career in health care. Commencing his career in the medical field in 2008, he has established himself as an emergency medicine physician and an assistant clinical professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California Los Angeles since 2008. That same year, he accepted a position as an emergency medicine physician for Emergent Medical Associates, which he maintains today. Additionally, he has excelled as the medical director, the director of stroke services and an emergency medicine physician for Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center, as well as a chief risk officer for Pacific Healthworks, LLC, joining the latter business in 2010.
At the Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center, Dr. Snyder oversees an emergency medicine department that manages over 50,000 patients per year. In his roles, he specializes in caring for stroke victims, pediatric patients and heart attack patients. Moreover, he works alongside nursing and hospital leadership to create policies and procedures that deliver innovative emergency medicine services to local communities. Throughout his career, he has served on a number of committees and has contributed to various scholarly articles, printed and multimedia publications, and book chapters.
Alongside his current endeavors, Dr. Snyder found success at Emergent Medical Associates as the director of risk management from 2012 to 2020 and director of staffing and recruitment from 2013 to 2016. He was active as an assistant medical director for Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center from 2016 to 2017 and an emergency medicine physician for Antelope Valley Hospital from 2008 to 2010. In addition to his professional career, he contributed his expertise to the board of directors of the California chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians from 2012 to 2016. Additionally, he maintains involvement with the board of directors of the American Board of Emergency Medicine Examiners and is an expert reviewer for the California Medical Board.
Dr. Snyder received a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of California San Diego in 1999. He subsequently obtained a Master of Science in physiology and a Doctor of Medicine from the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in 2000 and 2004, respectively. Upon the completion of his medical training, he graduated from the UC Los Angeles Medical Center Emergency Medicine Residency Program in 2008 as chief resident. During his training, he was a recipient of the Gold Humanism Award and was honored with the Patient's Choice Award.
Dr. Snyder has always been interested in pursuing a career in the medical field, as his father was an orthopedic surgeon. He is proud of his department's performance during the coronavirus pandemic, during which time they managed to maintain readiness and camaraderie even among the highest influx of patients. Going forward, he aims to continue promoting the pride he has in his staff, as well as the services they provide on behalf of the community.
