Growing up, Mr. Cailler benefited richly from the influence of his father, who served as a firefighter. He would often visit him at the fire station, where he saw how much he enjoyed his work and service to the local community. Long taught the importance of loving what one does, Mr. Cailler drew the necessary inspiration to become a firefighter in his own right.
Mr. Cailler became a part of the Junior Fire Service in 2008, and has worked at the Fire Department for the city of Lewiston since 2013. He completed the National Managing Officer program at the National Fire Academy in 2019. Following this accomplishment, Mr. Cailler stepped into his current role as the fire chief of the Sabattus Fire Department.
In his capacity as chief, Mr. Cailler ensures that all equipment is properly stationed and up to industry standards. He also conducts training at the station and handles administrative duties, grant writing and regular meetings. Throughout the course of his tenure, Mr. Cailler was notably able to acquire a new five-hundred-thousand-dollar fire truck for the station.
He is also the co-owner (along with his two closest friends and co-workers, JP Adams and Matt Wiers) of Tri-County Training Association LLC. Through this fire department training company they teach local fire departments advanced skills in the areas of RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) firefighter survival, search and rescue, truck company functions, rope rescue and vehicle extrication.
