Mr. Ellison is an expert in computer science, electronics and information security celebrating more than five decades in his chosen field as an information security analyst. He entered the United States Naval Reserves in 1955, and was studying at American University when he was pulled out of school and onto active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After spending 1961 and 1962 embedded in a naval squadron in Cuba, Mr. Ellison developed a passion for electronics and avionics, and continued to specialize in these subjects even after returning to reserve status.
In 1964, Mr. Ellison completed a Bachelor of Science in international economics at American University, and remained active for two years of postgraduate study while working as a tax accountant for the Trust Department at the National Bank of Washington and as a methods analyst for Automation Industries. He started a career with the General Services Administration in Washington in 1965, spending two years as a management instructor and a decade as a contract negotiator. Mr. Ellison served as a computer systems contracting officer for the General Services Administration from 1977 until 1997, when he was named as the president of Allied Universal Security Services, where he hopes to continue his work for years to come.
Mr. Ellison has dedicated many years of service to the Norwegian Society and the Sons of Norway, which he considers integral in helping him overcome his natural introversion, and is a former president of the Second Presbyterian Church. An enthusiastic sportsman, he was a longtime swimming and diving coach for the Pike Branch Swim and Tennis Club and has judged competitive ballroom dancing for the United States Ballroom Dancing Association's Eastern Seaboard region since 1986. Mr. Ellison credits much of his success to the support of his wife, They were married in Hong Kong at The Central Chinese Headquarters with three government witnesses present. He is looking forward to remaining active in his many vocations for as long as he is able.
