Though he has excelled as the vice president of sales and marketing for Trans American Trucking Service for over 15 years, Mr. McGraw originally intended to work in law enforcement following his graduation from college. Shortly after he obtained a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Seton Hall University in 2005, he discovered that his desired profession carried long waiting periods. He was subsequently encouraged by his father, the founder of Trans American Trucking & Warehouse, to work for the aforementioned company. He spent a year to refamiliarize himself with the industry as he had spent time in his younger years working for the company and upon completion set out on the road to start obtaining new business.
This experience prepared Mr. McGraw with the knowledge to be successful in his favorite part of his profession: traveling around the country to meet potential and current customers. He quickly found that the key to building long-term partnerships was simply treating customers with the same transparency and respect that he wishes to receive in return. Mr. McGraw values these relationships so highly that he previously traveled to Germany in order to meet the company's German customers face-to-face and work with them directly. Trans American Trucking Services was noted as one of the first U.S. trucking companies to exhibit this level of dedication to their international customers.
In 2018, Mr. McGraw furthered his expertise as a business leader by earning a Leadership and Management Certificate from the prestigious Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He intends to pass on his invaluable skills to his growing sales team helping them succeed in the industry. Moreover, Mr. McGraw was honored with the Good and Faithful Servant Award from Seton Hall University in 2018 and recognized among the Forty Under Forty by NJ Biz in 2015 and 2020.
Mr. McGraw is also very proud of his involvement with a number of non-profit organizations such as the YMCA of Greater Monmouth County and Team Walker Inc., which both provide academic and recreational programs to children in low income NJ cities. Furthermore, he remains affiliated with various industry-related organizations such as the Railway Industrial Clearance Association and the Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association. Looking toward the future, Mr. McGraw hopes to continue growing while expanding upon his sales team and managing the growth and expansion of Trans American Trucking & Warehouse.
