Renowned in the kitchen, Mr. Cam has garnered a reputation for his one-of-a-kind sauces, flavors and recipes, many of which have emerged from around the world having utilized only the finest ingredients, organic products and prime meats.
Bursting with ambiance, Mr. Cam's French cuisine restaurant offers indoor seating as well as a beautiful outdoor courtyard setting and a separate room for private parties. Available seven days a week for dinner, Bistro Provence is also open for lunch Fridays through Sundays with reservations being strongly encouraged. Excited for the future of his restaurant, Mr. Cam plans to continue expanding upon his diverse collection of recipes in the coming years.
Mr. Cam began working in a kitchen at the age of 15 while completing several culinary courses in his home country. He eventually obtained his first role as a professional chef de partie at Royale Hotel in Deauville, France. Mr. Cam later briefly worked for another local restaurant in Paris before relocating to the U.S. in 1973.
Over the next 30 years, Mr. Cam garnered valuable experience with some of the best culinary venues in the industry, including the famous Four Seasons in New York City and Le Pavilion in Washington, D.C. Mr. Cam also owned or co-owned several restaurants before establishing Bistro Provence, including Le Paradou and Yannick's in the Radisson Hotel in Alexandria, Virginia. As a respected business owner, Mr. Cam is grateful for the opportunity to serve his local community, employ local residents and put smiles on people's faces.
As a testament to his extraordinary talent, Mr. Cam has been presented with multiple accolades. A recognized wine connoisseur and specialist in burgundy wines, he received his first honor in 1985, which was a Wine Spectator's Grand Award. Mr. Cam's restaurants were later honored among the Nation's 25 Best New Restaurants by Esquire Magazine on two occasions, with Yannick's in 1994 and Le Paradou in 2004.
