Mr. Knuckle oversaw the development of many multibillion-dollar portfolios for Endowments, Foundations, and Defined Benefit Pension Plans. His extensive global reach has included advising clients about hedge fund investments and GTAA Programs, Investment Strategies, Wealth Creation Pension Plans, Capital Allocations and more in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Mr. Knuckle, who has excelled in the finance industry for more than two decades, also possesses expertise in Strategic and Financial Planning, Investment Banking, Change Management, sophisticated Capital Structuring, Complex and often cross border Negotiations, and other significant areas of the industry.
Prior to joining Bridgewater Associates, Mr. Knuckle was an advisor to Goldman Sachs' Investment Banking Division in New York City and Frankfurt, Germany. He also spent many years as an advisor for McKinsey and Company's Corporate Finance and Strategy Practice in Los Angeles, Vienna, Zurich, and Moscow. McKinsey and Company, Inc. was Mr. Knuckle's first place of work after graduating from college and he excelled in his ability to cultivate deeply rooted trust-based relationships with a multitude of clients helping them to create and executive finance driven growth strategies.
Prior to his distinguished financial career, Mr. Knuckle spent more than fifteen years as a professional Opera Singer (Boy Soprano and Lyric Baritone) in the United States and Europe working closely with such classical luminaries as Conductors James Levine and Christoph von Dohnanyi, Sopranos Anja Silja, Grace Bumbry and Harolyn Blackwell, Mezzo Soprano Christa Ludwig, Tenor Luciano Pavarotti, and celebrated Bass/Baritone Sir Willard White. He has performed on the opera stages of Vienna, Munich, Berlin, Zurich, London, and New York City.
Mr. Knuckle is a founding member of LGBTQ+ affinity groups at McKinsey, Goldman, and Bridgewater. He has worked very closely with Dame Vivian Hunt, R. Marty Chavez, and Susie Scherr in particular, to develop, attract, and retain distinctive LGBTQ+ talent at each firm. In the coming years, Mr. Knuckle hopes to take on more of a leadership role within the LGBTQ+ community.
Mr. Knuckle was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica. He has lived in Jamaica, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Russia, South Africa, and Thailand. Highly educated, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a minor in German from Pomona College in Claremont, California. He also holds a Master of Business Administration in Strategy and Finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Mr. Knuckle speaks English (native speaker) and fluent German, French, Italian and Spanish. He received the Bertha Clendenen McCord for Academic Excellence at Pomona College and was Pomona College's nominee for the Rhodes Scholarship in 2000.
He currently serves as a Member of the Board of the Pomona College Alumni Association and is an Advisor to Immigration Equality - America's leading LGBTQ+ and HIV-positive Immigrant Rights Organization.
