As an educator, she made it her prerogative to teach her students to accept nothing less than unconditional tolerance, and to accept everyone despite their differences.
MATAWAN, NJ, July 29, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Geraldine "Jill" Fishman has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With over 25 years of practiced expertise in education, Ms. Fishman has achieved professional success through her specialty in overcoming adversity. As an educator, she made it her prerogative to teach her students to accept nothing less than unconditional tolerance, and to accept everyone despite their differences. She earned distinction in this capacity for more than two decades as a history and language arts teacher at William C. McGinnis Middle School in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, before retiring in 2010. Before working for the township of Perth Amboy, Ms. Fishman previously taught fifth grade classes for the Carteret School District in New Jersey.
Ms. Fishman's exemplary performance in the field was born of her academic journey, during which time she completed her undergraduate studies at Hunter College. It was here that she earned a Bachelor of Arts in education, after which she moved back to New Jersey to begin her career as a teacher. While Ms. Fishman initially became involved in education due to the influence of her father, she prospered in the field due to her love for helping children, as well as her dedication to serving as an advocate for positive change.
A dedicated civic citizen, Ms. Fishman is a donor on behalf of several charities that support research on Parkinson's Disease, as well as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She also is a supporter for the Special Olympics, as well as Toys for Tots. Though her vocational path has been filled with many standout moments, Ms. Fishman was especially proud of not only teaching her students, but also allowing them to experience learning on an innate level. Indeed, she is particularly gratified to have once led a lesson plan that called for her students to write notes to each other in hieroglyphics during a unit on Ancient Egypt, instead of them simply studying and memorizing the glyphs as they were organized.
