After earning his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), Dr. Pardo served as an assistant in radiation oncology and an assistant radiation oncologist at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, beginning in 1990. He later founded House Call Docs Inc., where doctors and nurses would see patients at home while establishing active outpatient practices as a generalist as well as a specialist in Pain Medicine and Addiction Medicine/Addiction Psychiatry. As a seasoned researcher, Dr. Pardo has disseminated research findings through authoring multiple scholarly articles in various peer reviewed medical journals.
Born in Havana, Dr. Pardo made his way to the U.S. in 1960 at the age of two. He later completed a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts at Johns Hopkins University in 1980, followed by a Doctor of Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco in 1984. Additional educational pursuits to Dr. Pardo's credit have included an internship at Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center in San Francisco, a residency at the University of California in San Francisco and a second residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Dr. Pardo has been aligned with numerous industry-related organizations. He is a member of the America Society for Investigative Pathology, the American Radium Society, the American College of Radiology, the Radiation Research Society and, among others, the American Association for Cancer Research. Dr. Pardo holds lifetime board certification in radiology and radiation oncology and is certified in addiction medicine.
As a testament to his success in medicine and research, Dr. Pardo received several awards, beginning in 1990 with a Young Investigator Award from the American Cancer Society. He also received several Clinical Investigator Awards from the National Institutes of Health between 1994 and 2004, as well as grants from the National Cancer Institute between 1995 and 2004. He most recently secured a Private Practice Foundation grant in 2010. A celebrated Marquis listee, Dr. Pardo has been cited in the 66th edition of Who's Who in America, the fourth edition of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare and the 26th edition of Who's Who in the East.
Dr. Pardo resides in North Mission Hills, San Diego where he lauds his greatest laurels resting with his 16 year old triplets, Francisco Sebastian, Victor Adrian, and Maria-Amelia Pardo and his husband of 13 years, Ricardo Joaquin-Pardo, his two dogs, Mocca and Junior, and two cats, Pixie and Jinx.
