Before venturing onto his vocational path, Mr. Shamma began his education at the University of Cincinnati, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering in 1992. He continued at the same university, and in 1995 received a Master of Science in industrial engineering. He completed PhD coursework in nonprofit management at Capella University in 2010. Currently, Mr. Shamma is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in leadership from Xavier University.
A devoted volunteer in his local community, Mr. Shamma is also a member of the World Wildlife Federation, which is the world's leading conservation organization that protects communities, wildlife and the places in which they live. In a career suffused with highlights, he is most proud of the creation of their core mentorship training program, which trains and develops adult volunteers to be effective youth mentors.
