Long interested in legal service and history, Ms. Wood obtained a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Texas at Austin, where she later received a Master of Arts in history. She has maintained her memberships with the International Association of Women Judges and the National Association of Women Judges. In addition, she contributes as a board member to the Lawyer Referral Service of Austin, and is a former president of the Travis County Women Lawyers Association. Looking toward the future, Ms. Wood aims to travel to such countries as Norway, China, New Zealand, and Australia.
