HEMPSTEAD, NY, September 22, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Joan A. Polidore-Pastor has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Dr. Polidore-Pastor initially obtained an Associate of Arts in early childhood education at Empire State College in Jamaica, New York in 1999 before furthering her studies with a Bachelor of Arts in theology from Visual International University in 2000. Subsequently, she earned a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Philosophy in Christian counseling from Southwest Bible College and Seminary in Valdosta, Georgia between 2013 and 2015. Dr. Polidore-Pastor was additionally ordained by the Christian Chaplain Association of New York.
After immigrating to the United States from Morne Prosper, Dominica after the damage to the island country caused by Hurricane David in 1979, Dr. Polidore-Pastor devoted her life to what she calls the ministry of hospitality, excelling as a family care provider at Pilgrim Psychiatric Center in Brentwood, New York as well as a nurse at A Holly Patterson Extended Care in Uniondale. In 2018, Dr. Polidore-Pastor and her husband Julian, who is also a Christian minister, aided their home country after Dominica was struck by Hurricane Maria. Providing shelter and resources to their countrymen with the aid of their daughter Julia, an employee at the University of Rochester Medical Center, her family coordinated a collection drive to send food and supplies to Dominica. Dr. Polidore-Pastor considers her career highlight to be her time dedicated to ministering for incarcerated young people in conjunction with the Christian Chaplain Association.
Dr. Polidore-Pastor has notably authored such books as "The Ministry of Hospitality" in 2016 and "The Influential Women," which will be published in 2021.
