JACKSONVILLE, FL, September 22, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rev. Dr. Robert Vernon Lee III has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
After more than a decade in the corporate world, Dr. Lee transitioned into ministry as a rector of the Church of Our Savior in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1991. Three years into leading a wonderful team of clergy and lay leaders and a congregation of about 1,600 members, he set off on his own journey. Establishing FreshMinistries in Jacksonville as the founding chairman and chief executive officer, Dr. Lee ultimately received the necessary requirements as a 501 (c) nonprofit outreach organization in 1989.
Designed to help alleviate extreme poverty by empowering communities and individuals to realize their full potential, Dr. Lee's ministry has since become a thriving, full-time organization in 1994. Responsible for leading the organization's various outreach opportunities, he also works closely with directorates, volunteers and others that greatly benefit the ministry's goals. Working diligently to provide international outreach services, including agricultural business incubation programs to lessen food shortages in Africa, Haiti and other countries, FreshMinistries also formed an aquaponics training facility at Estate Bethlehem in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands and, among other initiatives, has participated in disaster relief efforts in Haiti after its devastating earthquake of 2010.
Inspired by a deep sense of spirituality, Dr. Lee's faith is what drove him to pursue a career in religious services. Apart from his ministry efforts, he takes great pleasure in being active throughout the community in other ways. He notably volunteers for Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville. Dr. Lee also had the opportunity to serve as a counselor to the president on financial literacy at the White House.
Dr. Lee received a Bachelor of Arts in English, history and political science at Vanderbilt University in 1972. He was later accepted to the prestigious Yale University, where he earned a Master of Divinity in 1988, followed by New York Theological Seminary where he earned a Doctor of Ministry in environmental theology in 1992. Supporting his career and professional goals, he is a prominent member of the Jacksonville Interfaith Council, the Order of Saint John, the Jacksonville Urban League and the Compass Rose Society. Among his many awards, Dr. Lee was recognized by Rotary International with a Humanitarian of the Year Award for his exceptional efforts.
